Gospel of Heaven written and spoken by Mokichi Okada
Part 1: Teachings from 4 February 1950 to 1954

To begin with, I would like to say that Sekai-Meshiya-kyo is not simply a religion. It means that it is partly a religion but not all. Then why did I call it Sekai-Meshiya-Kyo? It was inevitable since it is the innovative act of salvation which no one has imagined since the dawn of history. It sounds easier to understand and more approachable than an uncommon name. Frankly speaking, you just think that it is a religion beyond other religions or super religion and an unprecedented act of salvation.

First, I describe the broad outline of Sekai-Meshiya-kyo. From the beginning, many prominently excellent people have appeared in the world since a primitive age. They struggled and made an effort as much as possible to achieve the far-reaching goal. Then their efforts paid off and a today’s flamboyant civilised world was created. Therefore, human beings must overflow with gratitude for their efforts. However, it is not actually like that. Why? When thinking it over, we realise that they didn’t bring us happiness as the most important thing for us. Needless to say, there must be a great fault in the present civilisation, which causes such a situation and I was informed by God why this fault was caused. It is that the present civilisation has not fully developed. Only half of it or the materialistic field has developed but the spiritual one wasn’t looked back at all. There is a reason for that. It is because spiritual culture should have been stopped developing for a certain period to develop material culture first. That is God’s providence. Now the material culture has developed as planned and therefore, God develops spiritual culture at once. When both cultures have fully developed, the true civilisation is created. Since our Sekai-Meshiya-kyo was found to carry out this mission, it is completely different from other existing religions for everything.

In this way, we awaken spiritualism which was dormant for a long time. This is the basis of our mission but it is not easy. In any case, most of the cultural people have been fascinated by science and ignored God until today. To awaken such their souls, we need tremendous power of a super-human. This power makes them recognise the existing of God and it should be demonstrated as nothing but miracles. Therefore, we show many miracles. They are, of course, performed by the absolute power which is transmitted from God. For this reason, people turn to spiritualism no matter how they don’t believe gods. There, we enter the era when spiritual culture flourishes. Then the defective culture is corrected and the truly civilised world is realised, which completely solves the three great disasters of disease, poverty and conflict. They are the greatest agonies for human beings. To realise such a world, I was chosen. This is not the first time to be mentioned.

It has been foretold by many saints and philosophers for a long time and the time has just come. Christ said that heaven is approaching or Sakyamuni said that Miroku appears in this world. Other than them, the world of Kanrodai foretold by the founder of Tenri-kyo, the world of pine trees by the founder of Oomoto, the world of Gino by Nichiren, Saviour’s advent in Judaism and so on. The remarkable thing here is that they are all prophecies but it doesn’t mean they carry out them. On the other hand, I do establish Paradise on Earth. Therefore, I am an executioner and also a person who supports their prophecies.

When I say like that, you will be surprised at my exaggerated expression but on the other hand, you also see how confident I am for my words. It is because God gave me all sort of wisdom and ability to achieve His goal. He also gave me His superhuman power. Since human beings have never experienced this power yet, no one can imagine how it is. Now I freely use this power and show uncountable miracles by using it. For this reason, everyone can benefit from this gospel immediately after joining our religion.

In short, the sick will be cured, the poor will become prosperous, conflict disappears, the unhappiness changes into happiness and so on. People will be impressed with how deep God blesses them. Since society is the collection of the individuals and the world is the collection of the nations, Paradise on Earth with peace and happiness comes true as our religion is developing. Then God’s purpose will be achieved. We are now in the borderline between them. It is an honour for you, therefore, that you know this fact and then get a lucky break.

For this reason, this book teaches you the essence of everything as well as religion through God’s wisdom. I had my disciples choose from many teachings which I wrote so far and compile them as I instructed. Therefore, the unprecedented truth is revealed by them and there are none of the mistakes. It is not only this book. We publish other books one after another whenever my writings are piled up. In a word, they are the bible of Sekai-Meshiya-kyo and should hand down to one’s posterity.
