I have received numerous blessings since I became a believer in the present Sekai-Meshiya-kyo in 1943. I had great grace this time and sincerely report it with gratitude. In September 1944, I was forced to evacuate and changed residence. On 10 March, I was bombed out and moved to Katsushika district for a while. In July 1950, I returned to the place where I lived before evacuation. I run a foundry. I really needed a telephone for my business and applied for telephone installation. In 1951, the telephone company told me that I needed 30,000 yen for the installation. As I needed it, I asked them to install it as soon as possible. The cost didn’t matter. However, they don’t install it soon.
In 1952, the telephone company told me again. They said that time, “You have to buy a telephone bond for 40,000 yen. Besides, you pay 34,000 yen as an installation fee. Is that all right for you?” “Yes, I am. Please do it soon.” However, someone said to me later, “You might not need to buy a telephone bond as you already installed the phone. The company just kept your phone instrument.” I asked him to check whether it was true or not. His answer was to get evacuation proof and submit it. I soon got it in the ward office and submitted it. However, the telephone office told me to pay 74,000 yen. I did need the phone but the telephone office did nothing even though I asked them so many times. In such a condition, I might not get it for a couple of years. On 3 February, I joined the monthly festival of Sekai-Meshiya-kyo and asked Meshiya-sama and Dai-Komyo-Nyorai-sama for their protection. Then I visited the telephone office and submitted the evacuation proof with 34,000 yen. I thought to pay 40,000 yen later. The staff checked my proof and said, “You just pay 4,000 yen for this.” I didn’t know why but he gave me a receipt of 4,000 yen. I was surprised very much. I was glad but it was wired. I thought about it for a while. “Should I pay only 4,000 yen just because I submitted the evacuation proof?” As a matter of fact, one of my neighbours paid 74,000yen even though he had a telephone instrument.” As for me, I had the phone kept at the telephone office. Nevertheless, I just paid 4,000 yen. That must have been the grace I got from Meshiya-sama. I deeply expressed my gratitude. Besides, people could hardly get evacuation proof but I got it soon. Furthermore, many neighbours had already applied the telephone installation but the telephone had not installed yet. I was the first person among them to get a phone. I soon visited the headquarters in Atami to worship. I expressed my gratitude in front of the altar. Thank you very much, Meshiya-sama.

I have received numerous blessings since I became a believer in the present Sekai-Meshiya-kyo on 11 December 1949. Here I would like to report the amazing grace we receive with gratitude. I am a barber and run the public bath as a side job. Since I live in a farm village, it is difficult to install a water pipe at a relatively low cost. Therefore, I own two wells and supply water by using a motor. As we used a large amount of water, water quality gradually deteriorated and impurities adhered to the inner pipe. As a result, the inner diameter of the pipe becomes smaller. Water moss adhered and hardened the inner pipe for the bathtub over the years and no more drops of water came out of the pipe. As the water gets hot in the tub, customers often became noisy and finally screamed. Good service for customers is our motto. So, that condition was quite a failure for us. I got frustrated as if the alarm bell kept ringing in my head. I scolded my family and hastily let them fill the hot water with buckets of water. When I remember it now, I cannot help but laugh bitterly. The bathtub and the water storage tank are connected with the pipe and the distance between them was about 4 meters. Furthermore, the pipe is sunken and buried under the ground, which is hardened with concrete. Therefore, it is not easy to clean the pipe. I thought about what to do and tried to clang the pipe exposed on the ground. When I thought deeply, I realised that clogging must have been caused in the bent part of the pipe which was buried under the ground. So, I decided to dig the ground.
The last February, I read the thank-you report in the newspaper published by Sekai-Meshiya-kyo. It says that the safe was opened by Johrei in two minutes even though it had not been opened for more than forty days. To be honest, I hadn’t read the newspaper for a long time. However, I caught the attention of that report for some reason when I read through the newspaper as my heart dictated. I thought that God made me read it. My wife and I decided to ask Meshiya-sama for help single-mindedly. I first clanged the pipe again and then chanted prayers several times while performing Johrei very carefully. Unless the pipe got unclogged, it would be because God guided us that way after all or our faith was inadequate. I held the pipe with a feeling as if I was touching something terrifying. Then I breathed into the pipe. How could that happen? A large amount of water deposit kept coming off. It was clogged for thirty days. When all of the deposit gushed out, clean water finally flew out of the pipe. When looking at that water, we both were moved to tears. Our face flushed and turned red. We were so glad that we forgot to wipe our limps and ran up to the first flower to express our gratitude in front of Komyo-Nyorai-sama. When we put our forehead on the tatami mat in front of the altar again after we purified the mind and body, we were full of gratitude from the bottom of the heart so much that we couldn’t raise our heads.
Throughout that experience, it makes me clear that Johrei solves the problem of not only disease but also such an object when relying on Meshiya-sama. I am convinced very much that when we or human beings as loads of creation seriously rely on Meshiya-sama, any incurable diseases are cured by Johrei. Forgive me for my poor writing. Here I conclude my report with gratitude.

Mr A is a believer in Sekai-Meshiya-kyo and lives in a mountain village twenty kilometres away from Morioka. On 17 August 1951 when I visited his house, his brother in law was working hard to repair the motor for more than an hour. He is twenty-four years old and not a believer in Sekai-Meshiya-kyo yet. He said, “I don’t know why it doesn’t work. There seems to be nothing wrong.” He set a net on the pulley instead of the belt and pull it. He repeatedly tried that but the motor never started. When I got out of the house after worshipping Komyo-Nyorai-sama, he was still repairing the motor in front of the house. I felt sorry that he got sweaty and oily all over his body. Then Mr A said to me, “The engine starts if you perform Johrei to the motor.” I was surprised. He continued to say, “I read many thank-you reports regarding such a grace. So, please perform Johrei to the motor, Mr S.” I work as an instructor for Sekai-Mehishiya-kyo but had never received the grace for machines.
I felt very sorry for him but I said, “The machine should be repaired mechanically.” It doesn’t mean I never believe that Johrei always associates with miracles. Even so, I couldn’t perform Johrei obediently. I regretted that my faith was not deep enough. I also strongly felt that man had earnest belief rather than me though he was just a believer. I told Mr A to help his brother and pull the net. The engine never started. Mr A repeatedly said to me, “Please perform Johrei to the motor.” His brother got worried and also said, “The motor won’t work today. That’s waste of time. Please perform Johrei.” I felt so sorry for them. Then I decided to ask Komyo-Nyorai-sama for protection and perform Johrei. Leave the rest to God. I soon started to perform Johrei.
I first performed Johrei all over the motor. I felt something with my hand in a particular part. I thought that cloudiness was there and performed Johrei towards only that part. Then I felt that the cloudiness had gone in less than a minute. I said, “It would be all right.” I set the net on the pulley and pulled it. What a grace! I just performed Johrei for less than a minute but the motor did start even though it didn’t work for more than two hours. I was very glad and full of gratitude for the grace I got. Mr A’s family was so amazed and full of gratitude, too. They said, “We told you that we wanted you to perform Johrei soon.” Their words made me realise that my faith was not enough. Thank you very much, Meshiya-sama. I am a sinful person but you use me for your divine work. I do appreciate the infinitive grace you give me. Thank you very much again, Meshiya-sama.

Life is short. No matter how short life is, anyone from an adult to a child has some worries. If a person relieves their worries even a little and lives a life with a cheerful feeling from one day to the next, I think that they should be said to be a truly happy person. Anyone wants to depend on others when having a concern. That is a human weakness. I especially feel the greatness of faith in such an occasion. I think that it is a beautiful way of life when a person is saved by their faith and faith is the first step for them to become happy.
I have never imagined that I believe in faith. I had no particular reason but became a believer in Sekai-Meshya-kyo as recommended. Because of my curiosity, I casually became a believer. Frankly speaking, I thought that I would like to receive grace. I held my hand every time I had a chance but no effect nor significant thing happened for a while. As time went by, however, mysterious things happened so often. My father is thick-headed and believes in science very much. Even he sometimes said, “That is mysterious beyond science.” Many miracles involving diseases have been already demonstrated and introduced as thank-you reports. As for my family, my mother was saved from facial neuralgia by Johrei. She suffered from it for a long time and it was never cured by medicine, acupuncture nor moxibustion. My acute appendicitis was cured by Johrei, too. We, of course, had many other blessings which I don’t report in detail. Thanks to Meshiya-sama, my whole family didn’t need a doctor since I became a believer in Sekai-Meshiya-kyo. I deeply appreciate the greatness of the holy light we received like those. Then a miracle had happened again which I will never forget. That was the greatest miracle I have ever received. A very mysterious thing happened.
I work in the insurance department of the post office. One day, a new safe was installed. When I casually locked and unlocked the key of the safe, I didn’t know why but the safe became unable to open. It just could not open. I seriously got in trouble. I tried very hard to open it but never succeeded. I was getting worried. I asked my colleague nearby to help me but he couldn’t open the safe. I got worried more and more but I didn’t know what to do. I almost cried. My colleagues tried to open the safe in various ways but it never opened. Everyone said, “It cannot be helped. We have no choice but to break the safe.” The safe was just installed but should we break it? It was my fault. I was in agony. “Should I apologise to the director? Should I compensate the safe?” I got confused more and more. I scared to death. My fear was beyond the description. I just got worried very much and ashamed myself. I ran home with anxiety. I could hardly sleep that night. I kept thinking about what I should do. Dawn broke. I was out of spirits and felt depressed. Then I went to work with a heavy step. I felt very uneasy and tried hard to open the safe soon after arriving at the office. It couldn’t open after all. I decided that I apologised to the director and took responsibility. I was prepared. On the way to see the director, I suddenly got inspiration in my heart. I never realised it at all until that time.
“I just remembered!” I thought that I should try to perform Johrei as my last hope. Then I prayed to God. I performed Johrei to the safe for about two minutes while asking Meshiya-sama to open it and help me in my heart several times. I thought that was the last chance. Then I turned the key with determination. What a surprise! The safe made a rattling noise and opened quickly. That was the one several people tried to open since the day before but no one could do. I was just stunned and stared at the just-opened safe. How great the divine power was! I was so grateful and moved to tears. I soon got back home to relieve my mother. I forgot myself with joy and repeatedly called out as soon as I got home, “It was opened! It was opened by Johrei!” I stood towards faraway east and held my hands. I expressed gratitude to Meshiya-sama for a while. I did realise that we never understood the divine power of God with superficial human knowledge as long as we experienced it. From now on, I would like to work harder for the construction of Paradise on Earth as much as possible.

I took training in Hagi city in September 1949 and became a believer in the present Sekai-Meshiya-kyo. Since then, I received numerous blessings. Last year, I received amazing grace. I would like to report it with gratitude in front of Meshiya-sama. On 10 June 1952 when I went to the bank in Hagi city, I heard above the noise of the crowd there. I asked one of the clerks what happened. He said, “The large safe in the vault has never opened since yesterday. Since we have to put in or take out money very often, we are seriously troubled. If the safe never opened, we would have no choice but break it.”
On the way to the bank, I met a fisheries union leader and came with him to the bank. He pointed out to me and said to the branch manager, “This person often brings about a miracle. Why don’t you ask him to use a charm?” His words were embarrassing to me. Before I turned down his offer, the branch manager said to me, “Could you please do it?” As he asked me in such a polite manner, I couldn’t run away anymore. I was prepared and entered the vault. Twenty or thirty clerks followed me. That was no good. I asked the manager to enter only with a deputy manager. So, others were out of the vault. I first took a bow towards the direction of Hakone and then chanted prayers five times. I firmly asked Meshiya-sama to open the safe and started to perform Johrei. About twenty minutes later, I asked the branch manager to turn the safe dial calmly. He immediately turned the dial and the key. What a surprise! The safe finally opened with a bang sound. It never opened since yesterday no matter how hard people tried. The branch manager called out, “It’s opened.” I couldn’t help but say aloud, “Thank you very much, Meshiya-sama.”
Before the safe opened, the clerks insisted that the safe couldn’t open in such a way as to perform Johrei since they could never open it no matter how hard they tried. On the other hand, the fisheries union leader claimed that the safe was sure to open because not humans but God opened it. They argued with each other in that way. At all events, the safe opened. When looking at that miracle, the clerks, as well as the branch manager, were stunned, tilted their heads and just stared at me. I was so relieved and just admired the divine virtue. The branch manager told me that they no longer bothered our customer. Then he sent me off with gratitude. I went home with a cheerful feeling. I think that only people who work for God know this kind of joy. I swear that I lead troubled people to this faith as many as possible. Here I conclude my report. Thank you very much again, Meshiya-sama.
